
Barry Jaquess
Barry Jaquess holds a Masters of Music degree from USC where he studied with Scott Tennant, Jim Smith, and Pepe Romero. His programs offer an eclectic blend of traditional classical repertoire fused with latin, jazz, blues, and Eastern European idioms. Barry is a prize-winner of the ASTA guitar competition and he was also awarded a trip to Paris to record an album featuring French composer, Fernando Sor.
Barry has performed as a solo artist and with various ensembles in such venues as: The Skirball Cultural Center, Newman Recital Hall, Cal State University, Oregon State University, Goldbold Cultural Center, and Roswell Contemporary Art Center. He currently performs solo and with his wife, Melanie.
In addition, Barry has been teaching guitar to private students and group classes for the past 15 years. He is now accepting private students of all levels in the San Diego area. Please call or email for more information.
Melanie Jaquess
Melanie Jaquess is an alumna of California State University Northridge, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Music with an emphasis on electric bass and music production. Melanie has performed in venues including Catalina’s, The National Hispanic Cutural Center, Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, the San Francisco Civic Auditorium,and the Staple’s Center.
